What guarantee is supplied with your blinds?

All of Blindology blinds are supplied with up to a 6-year guarantee. But this is dependent on the type of blind required.

Most made to measure blind companies only supply a 12 month guarantee.

Why are no prices displayed on the website?

Due to the fact that all windows have varying drops and widths, this would complicate trying to supply you with a price. Also along with the fact that fabrics and finishes of various blinds vary in price.

But it is always more advisable for customers to view the fabrics in their own home and this is due to the differing of light coming in and also the fact that it can then be matched up to the decor and furnishings.

Can customers buy louvres/slats only?

Simply put, yes!

Blindology can supply just the louvres/slats only, for customers Vertical blinds. Available in 89mm and 127mm Louvre widths.

Customers can contact Blindology at info@blindology.co.uk or give them a call with any enquiry, no doubt Blindology will be able to help.

Just replacing your louvres only, doesn’t always work out a lot cheaper, as it depends on the age of your headrail, let Blindology supply  a quote for  slats only, and a whole complete blind. Customers can then see the cost byhaving both prices, it is then down to the customer to decide which option to go for.

The louvres/slats of the Vertical blinds won’t rotate. Have you done something wrong?

This sometimes happens if the louvres/slats were originally hung onto the headrail whilst the hooks were in the closed position. Or perhaps the slats have been removed and rehung incorrectly.

Ideally take the louvres off the headrail, then turn the chain around until the hooks are in the open position. This means that when rehanging the louvres, what should be seen are the louvres/slats hooks on the head rail, and that they are all facing in the same direction.

Your louvres should now rotate without any problems.

What might also happen whilst rehanging the blind, is that the louvres/slats get muddled up and are incorrectly hung, please ensure that all the slats are hung in the correct fashion. If they overlap incorrectly, this will act like a brake on the blind, and stop the louvres/slats turning.

This is why Blindology state above about removing the louvres/slats.

The louvres of my Vertical blind are not in line with each other. What should I do?

This is easily rectified.

Pull the control chain until the slats are in the closed position, then gently force the chain and they will realign. You may need to try doing this in both directions.

Don’t worry if you hear a noise, that’s perfectly normal, if it is a recent head rail, the travellers should be on a ratchet system, this is what that noise is.

Or, it could be that one or two of your slats are not lined up correctly, sometimes it is easier to remove the slats, rotate the travellers using the chain or wand until they are all facing exactly the same direction, then rehang your slats and test your blinds for the correct operation.

What type of blinds would be best for a bathroom?

Bathrooms tend to be steamy, so it’s best to choose a blind fabric that can cope with these conditions. A “stay fresh coating” is a specialist coating which stops damp, mould and mildew attaching to the fabric (available in some of Blindology’s roller blind and vertical blind fabric collections.)

Venetians are good, but a pain to keep clean, although Blindology don’t recommend  wood venetian blinds in either, steamy, damp or hot environments, however Blindology have mentioned this to customers, and still have wanted them. Blindology have had no reports or calls to say that damp has got into the wood.

It would always help if  a good extraction fan is installed in the bathroom and also good air ventilation (open windows after a bath or shower.)

Roller blinds would be a good option in this environment.

Vertical blinds and roller blinds which have a fabric that is moisture proof, is ideally suited for this environment which has a “stay fresh coating”.

If I supply fabric could you make my blind?

Unfortunately no.

Blindology cant offer this service.

All of Blindology’s fabrics or finishes have been specially selected due to the high quality and durability.

All of Blindology’s window blind fabrics and finishes will have under gone numerous tests by professional testers with in the blind trade.

This is to ensure that the fabrics and finishes are durable and that certain fabrics have specific applications for use. As for example; in a bathroom, to stop damp, mould or mildew attaching to the fabric.

Or the need for a fire retardant fabric.

This then in turn ensures that Blindology’s customers are happy with their blinds for years to come, and that the fabric’s and finishes have been tried and tested.

Do Blindology offer roller blinds that are pulled in the centre and they retract up?

No, sorry, Blindology only offer roller blinds with a control chain, or remote control, battery operated.

Blindology has found that with this type of roller blind it is operated with spring rollers, this type can be very temperamental over time, and Blindology would not recommend using the spring assisted type of roller blind in any application.

What do I do if a blind becomes faulty?

If Blindology supplied or installed the blind.

Please contact Blindology at info@blindology.co.uk or call  on tel: 01752 667252, mob: 07957620615 and explain your problem.

Blindology will then arrange a suitable time to visit and rectify the fault. Though the majority of the time, it has been down to customer error.

If Blindology did not supply and install the blind, ideally we would advise to contact the company that supplied or installed the blind.

If that business is not available, or perhaps your just not happy with the service this company gave at the time, or the quality of the blind, by all means contact us.

Please pick up the phone, or email Blindology and they will help out as much as possible.

A Wooden Venetian blind purchased awhile ago and have just ordered another, but they look slightly different. Why is this?

As wood is a natural product, the look and behaviour of any Wooden Venetian blind will be different to the next. The grain may vary between each slat, and other features may appear, such as pin knots, tiger striping, burl figures and mineral deposit.

These characteristics can or will make some slats seem darker or lighter than others.

Also this can be dependant on when the blind was manufactured, as like with many items, if it is a different batch of materials, then the colour may not match 100%. Its is the same for paint, carpets etc.

So please remember, when ordering a wood venetian blind, if you have more than one window in a room, it might be an idea to order both at the same time.

If customers would not prefer these natural characteristics, then Blindology would perhaps recommend a plain finish wood venetian blind.
